The CANAL+ Group has chosen SmartJog to manage their digital content exchanges


Within the framework of their technical infrastructure modernization project, the CANAL+ Group has chosen SmartJog to manage their digital content exchanges which includes exchanges with all of their suppliers and technical partners in France and Overseas.
SmartJog, a subsidiary of the TDF Group, is a global leader in the management and delivery of digital media content. Using SmartJog’s high speed and secure network allows the CANAL+ Group to optimize media exchanges with their suppliers and technical partners.

The SmartJog solution was implemented as follows:

•    Set up dedicated links for the different CANAL+ Group, partners and supplier sites,

•    Install the servers necessary to transmit and to receive programs on the premises of all suppliers and technical partners (Play-out centers, post-production laboratories, etc…),

•    Customize and integrate automatic file transcoding processes,

•    Enable the tracking and management of these exchanges directly from the CANAL+ Group’s internal interfaces.

Julien Seligmann named head of TDF Group’s Media Services Division

Julien Seligmann will today assume his role as Director of TDF Group´s Media Services Division. The division, which provides innovative solutions for global clients, includes SmartJog, Cognacq-Jay Image and BeBanjo, as well as the Swedish company Qbrick, which is in process of being acquired by the TDF Group.

As part of the TDF 3.0 project, Julien Seligmann will be in charge of developing technical services required for non-linear video management and delivery to connected devices in France and in Europe.

Julien Seligmann will become Chairman of the Board of SmartJog, Cognacq-Jay Image and Qbrick. He will also coordinate the Media Services activities of TDF Group subsidiaries in Europe: Media Broadcast in Germany, Digita in Finland, Antena Hungaria in Hungary and PSN in Poland.

A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and of the Corps des Mines et Télécoms, Julien Seligmann began his career in 1994 in the international networks division of France Telecom.

In 1998, he joined France Telecom GlobeCast and was responsible for Engineering and Special Events.

In 2002, Julien decided to venture into starting up his own business and with his partners created SmartJog, where he became CEO. In 2006, SmartJog became a subsidiary of the TDF Group and Julien remained in charge.

   

TDF Group announces the acquisition of Swedish company Qbrick

TDF Group today announces the acquisition 100% of Qbrick, Europe’s leading web TV and Mobile TV supplier, headquartered in Stockholm and with subsidiaries in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Spain. This acquisition fits with TDF 3.0 industrial project which aims at transforming and developing the services dedicated to audiovisual, multimedia and telecom companies through innovative network solutions.

Established in 1999, Qbrick is specialized in advanced solutions for managing online video content and streaming it to connected devices. Qbrick is the Scandinavian market leader and delivers OVP (Online Video Platform) and CDN (Content Delivery Network) solutions for 600 media, telecoms and corporate clients in Scandinavia.

As a result of the transaction, Qbrick will join TDF’s Media Services Division which comprises SmartJog, Cognacq-Jay Image, BeBanjo and Médiamobile as well as the Media services departments of TDF subsidiaries in Europe.

TDF Group intends to become a major player in Europe for online video, in order to distribute its clients’ TV and radio content across all networks. Thanks to this new acquisition, TDF group can extend its range of services to offer a comprehensive, versatile and highly scalable benchmark solution for professional media. In addition to its core offering of content management and delivery, the Media Services Division of TDF aims at becoming the leading provider of services to media and telecom companies, at managing and distributing customers’ online content, live and on demand, in multiple formats, to all connected devices: PCs, mobiles, smartphones, tablets and connected televisions.

TDF is establishing itself as a “media logistics provider”

Last May, the acquisition of BeBanjo enabled Cognacq-Jay Image, the French leader in standard broadcasting and IP network delivery of TV channels, to provide an end-to-end multimedia content management solution for linear and non-linear platforms.

   

Spanish exhibitor, Ocine, signs deal with SmartJog

Spanish exhibitor, Ocine, signed a deal with SmartJog to connect all of its cinemas.  Ocine has 15 multiplexes and 134 screens throughout Spain and France.  Under the new agreement with SmartJog, Ocine will benefit from the use of electronic delivery to receive content and will be able to decrease the number of hard drives shipped to them.

SmartJog launches MediaConnect, a new solution for broadcasting content to connected devices in France

SmartJog announced today that it is launching a new media solution for broadcasting to connected terminals in France called MediaConnect.  MediaConnect is a CDN (Content Delivery Network) aimed at audiovisual customers, and offers a higher broadcasting capability when compared to those currently on the market.

SmartJog is the first in the French market to launch this type of content distribution platform dedicated to audiovisual media. MediaConnect boasts an unprecedented network infrastructure including 10 points of presence in Paris and provinces and is capable of handling massive audience spikes. SmartJog plans to offer an unsurpassed user experience for viewing videos on connected TVs, PCs, iPads, digital tablets, iPhones and Smartphones.
